"Studium не значи "изучаване", а по -скоро прилягане към нещо, влечение към някого, един вид общо посвещаване, несъмнено нарочно, но без особена настойчивост.Вторият елемент идва да наруши целостта на studium-a и това ще нарека punctum.Punctum значи и убождане, дупчица, петънце, прорез - а също и непресказуемост. Punctum-ът на една снимка е ненадейността в нея, която ме убожда( и ми причинява болка, наранява ме.)"

Това е една от любимите ми книги за фотографията. Научи ме да гледам и възприемам по различен начин, да търся детайлите, да отворя сетивата си, да съм по- сензитивна.
Роланд Барт казва:"повечето снимки предизвикват в мен само общ, учтив интерес,без всякакъв punctum, харесват ми или ме отегчават, но не ме пробождат- притежават само studium." Същото можем да кажем и за хората. Те могат да бъдат красиви, успели, умни, сексапилни, добри, лоши и т.н., но без този punctum, за който Барт говори- те скоро се превръщат в тълпа...

This is one of my favorite books on photography. It taught me to look and perceive differently, looking for details, to open my senses and be more sensitive. Roland Barthes said: "Most pictures just cause a general, polite interest to me without any punctum, I like them or they could bore me, but they do not pierce me - they possess only the studium." We can say the same for humans. They may be beautiful, successful, smart, sexy, good, bad, etc., but without this punctum inside , which Barthes talks about, soon they will be just a part from the crowd ...
